Weekend of Possibility
I escaped the house this morning. Headed out to a diner so could enjoy a meal i didnt have to cook and instead use the time to think, journal and simply pause and reflect.
Funny how a comment by a financial influencer, Suzy something, said that dining out was a waste of money. What an awful way to look at life. Cooking is work, and takes time and both are precious. Everyone chooses what they enjoy doing in life, and though i enjoy creating in the kitchen, prepping nourishment for my family, i also appreciate the effort done by others for me.
We all need to be cared for, and the simple enjoyment of a meal prepared for me is so appreciated and also provides others the joy in nourishing others. The money spent supports those who work and live in my community. Its a kind way of engaging with our neighbours.
Anyhoo… while journalling I love having myWeek planner on the side so i can start to structure my weekend so i can make the most of the unconnected time away from clients and focus on the efforts to care for my daily life.
Ideas like starting a new puzzle so i have a happy distraction ready to pop in and out of. Also psych myself up for prepping the bulk meat and dairy i picked up at costco last night… consider what show, podcast, or music playlist to listen to making the experience enjoyable and fun. This all will lead into tidying the fridge.
Does your fridge mutate from clean and organized into a chaotic pile of disorder seemingly overnight like mine? This task is one of the many self care tasks that keep returning and are never done. Accepting facts like these are how I dismiss feelings of angst and self flagellation.
I love that i have noted to also set a couple hours aside to read. Read any of the pile of books on my bedside table. Maybe a mix of little non fiction and fiction. Do a little yin and yang balance.
I also have a pile of client projects that need some focused attention… so try and keep my energy stable so i can also address the work with positivity and joy.
In the end i know i am not perfect, and this very large list of tasks wont all get completed, but today ill embrace think big and maybe tomorrow ill settle into what is enough.
Enjoy your weekend.
